Propel:

The Iñupiaq word for propel is maŋuk: to drive, to move forward or onward. A reflection of my work moving organizations forward.

About me

I’m Andrea Boyd, an accountant, a Pacific Northwest Native, and a graduate of Western Washington University, where I studied business, accounting, English and technical writing.

For more than a decade I’ve worked in nonprofit, Tribal government, and small business accounting. My experience includes roles as deputy auditor for Whatcom County, tax specialist with the Washington Employment Security Department, and accountant for three Tribal governments.

I learn new accounting software quickly and work across the accounting cycle, from keeping the books and reconciling accounts to preparing year-end financial statements for your CPA or tax preparer. I adapt to the systems you already use, which makes outsourced, fractional and on-site contract work a good fit.

My goal is to leave every organization I work with stronger than I found it.

Mission

Propel Accounting helps nonprofits, Tribal organizations and service businesses understand their finances, with steady bookkeeping, clear visibility into revenue, expenses, budgets and cash flow, and monthly and year-end financial statements.

Values

  • Collaboration. I am available to collaborate with your team, board of directors, and your CPA to keep your financial information clear and organized.

  • Integrity. I explain what the numbers show, flag discrepancies, and tell you when something needs a closer look.

  • Reliability. We agree on priorities and deadlines, I tell you early if something changes, and I follow through.

The dragonfly

To me, the dragonfly stands for good luck and integrity, with wings that propel and a heart at its center.
